Yo is a trainer and consultant who works across the public sector (primarily in social care and education) with specialisms in autism and law. She is experienced in working closely with professionals in local authorities, care providers and in schools. She creates and delivers high level training on the legal framework of adult social care, safeguarding and autism for many English local authorities and other clients, including sector organisations such as OPG and ADASS. Yo provides training on all aspects of the Care Act; Adult Safeguarding law and practice; Mental Capacity law; DOLS; SEND law; and specialist autism courses for social care and education professionals. She has a thorough and up to date working knowledge of public law and professional practice issues in both adult and children’s services and a multi-faceted perspective on a range of issues affecting all client groups, but particularly autistics both with and without intellectual disabilities.
Delivery:
The training will be delivered by webinar using Microsoft Teams. Please ensure you have full access before requesting a place.

To refresh registered managers knowledge of how to fulfil their responsibilities to safeguard adults.

Learning Objectives:
- Revise and reflect on the application in practice of the 6 key principles underpinning adult safeguarding
- Refresh the skills and knowledge needed to contribute effectively to a safeguarding Adults Enquiry
- Reflect on the need for effective communication and working together
- Revisit the legislative framework supporting safeguarding adults
- Refresh and update knowledge of legal responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act and the implications for practice

Requesting a Place
If you would like to request a place, please complete the form below – One form per person is required (if you are completing on behalf of someone else, please ensure to include their email address and not your own/or a generic email address). Please note that submitting a form does not guarantee a place, however we suggest that you provisionally book the date in your diary. These training sessions are usually oversubscribed and therefore allocation of places will be determined on a number of factors. Please ensure that you provide as much detail as possible on the ‘why you want to attend’ section of the form.
You will be informed of the outcome of your application by email from the TSAB Business Unit. Places are not confirmed until this point. If you are unsuccessful your name may be added to a waiting list.
Our courses are free to attend, however we do limit the number of places that we offer to ensure that all delegates have the opportunity to participate during the session, so if your place is confirmed and you are no longer able to attend please inform the Business Unit by email as soon as possible so that we have the chance to offer your place to another delegate . Any cancellations must be received by email no later than 11.30pm on Tuesday 30th January. Cancellation after this date or failure to attend on the day will result in a £50 charge.
